On Thursday 22nd November, SusTrans (a nationwide charity) came to Lytchett Matravers Primary School to work with the Year 5 children. SusTrans visited the school in order to view Wareham Road outside our school, because this road is need of a lot of attention.
On Monday, 19th November, Year 6 invited family and friends to attend a world-class Victorian Exhibition. The children had planned, organised and arranged the whole programme of events, which highlighted their learning over the last term.
Spots, spots and more spots! On Friday 16th November all the children were asked to wear non-uniform and something spotty in support of Children in Need.
In Year 4 we have been busy doing our DT project on making ‘Money Containers’.
Year 5 children, parents and staff all gathered on the evening of Thursday 15th November to gaze at our fascinating solar system. The sky was not too clear, and there was a fine drizzle in the air, but thanks to our fantastic APP (Sky-view), this didn’t spoil our evening!
On Monday 12thNovember you may have spotted something unusual hanging up around school- lots of Odd Socks. Odd Sock Day was also the launch of the national Anti-Bullying week. This year the theme was ‘Choose Respect’.

I am writing to let you know how proud you should be of two of your students. On Saturday 13th October a swim marathon took place at ‘The Purbeck sports centre’ , I have a team to raise money for ‘The Brain Tumour Charity’ led by my eight year old little son who was diagnosed with a tumour at just 4 years old.
We are delighted to announce that we, Lytchett Matravers Primary School, have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2017/18 academic year.
We have had another fantastic curriculum week, this time celebrating a love of Creative Arts. Educating children in Art and Design develops a number of different skills far beyond drawing and painting.
After 30 very happy years working at the school the time has come for me to retire and say goodbye.
