Swan Homework

In Swan class we set Mathletics, Spelling Frame and TT Rockstars every week on a Monday. In addition to this homework, we would like the children to continue reading regularly at home.

Reading

We would like every child to read at least three times a week and record this in their reading record. The Reading records are checked weekly on a Monday. Although many of our children in Swan class are fluent readers, it is still very beneficial for adults at home to hear them read and give them the opportunity to answer questions about what they have read.

Thank you so much for your support with this.

Spelling

Spellings are set weekly on Mondays using the online programme Spelling Frame. The link for this is below:

 https://spellingframe.co.uk/

The children are also given a paper copy of their spellings to stick into their diaries if your child prefers to practise them on paper. The children are aware of their spelling groups and are given words that are appropriate to their needs. Mrs Stokes tests the children's spellings every week on a Monday afternoon and credits are awarded for consistently high marks!

Mathletics

Mathletics is used to set our weekly Maths homework on Mondays. All children are set 1-2 tasks related to the area of maths we have been learning about that week in our Maths lessons. The link for Mathletics is: https://www.mathletics.com/uk/.

TT Rockstars

We also set a weekly timed session for the children to complete on TT Rockstars. This is set on a Monday and is 20 minutes in length. It does not have to be completed in one block and can be broken up into shorter amounts of time each day if needed. The children in Year 4 need to develop a quick recall of all their times table facts which is why it is really essential that they complete regular practice at home. The link for TT Rockstars is: https://ttrockstars.com/.

** All log in information can be found in your child's reading record book. If you are having any difficulty logging on to any of the online programmes or would like to discuss any aspect of our Year 4 homework further do not hesitate to contact Mrs Stokes or Miss Wells.**

Thank you for all the help and support you give the children at home with their homework.
